Abstract

Ethics is a philosophical discipline that has a very long history and deals with the compliance of individuals or avoidance behaviors entirely and has many subheadings. Ethical problems created by computer technologies are examined under computer or informatics ethics. Computer ethics is defined as a dynamic and complex field of study that analyzes the relationship between facts, conceptualizations, policies, values and instantly developing computer technologies. Computer ethics are generally categorized under the ownership, accuracy, access and privacy topics. The aim of this research is to examine the online unethical behavior of university students in terms of gender, education level, and ethics course experience. In this correlational survey research, the study group of the research consists of a total of 530 student students with 269 female and 261 male. The "Online Unethical Behavior Scale" was used to collect the research data. SPSS 21.0 software package was used for the independent samples t-test. The findings reveal that there is a significant relationship between the gender and the online unethical behavior. On the other hand, there is not a significant relationship between the online non-ethical behavior, the education level, and the ethics course experience. The results are discussed with the findings of the related studies.
